We have been running Vicky Communication over here in Sector 53 at Holy Chowk for a good while now. Gijhore is always a busy spot with people moving around constantly. It gets quite noisy outside the shop, but we are used to it by now. Most days I am just sitting behind the counter dealing with whatever comes through the door. Sometimes it’s a cracked screen and other times someone just needs a new SIM card or a quick recharge. I started this place because I needed work and I knew a bit about phones. It isn’t a fancy office with air conditioning that works all the time, but it gets the job done for the locals. My cousin helps out when things get busy in the evenings. We see a lot of the same faces every week. People stop by just to say hello or ask about the latest models even if they aren't buying anything that day. The shop is small and we keep things piled up a bit on the shelves, but I know where everything is. Life in Gijhore moves fast but we try to keep up. There is a tea stall nearby where I get my morning chai before opening the shutters. If you live around Holy Chowk, you probably have walked past us a dozen times. We don't have a big sign or anything flashy, just the name on the front and a few posters in the window. It works for us and keeps us busy throughout the day.
