Sector 93 has a lot of big apartment blocks now, and Satnam Communication is a place where many of the workers and residents come. The shop is pretty basic, just a few glass cases and a counter that has seen better days. I usually get here in the morning and the first thing I do is check if the power is stable. We deal with a lot of SIM card issues and people wanting to port their numbers. It’s not the most exciting work but it’s what people need. The chairs for waiting are made of plastic and one of them has a crack, so you have to be careful how you sit. We don’t have any fancy air conditioning, just the ceiling fan that wobbles a little. In the evenings, it gets quite busy when people are heading home and realize they need a recharge or a new pair of earphones because their old ones broke. We see a lot of different people, from delivery boys to elderly folks who aren't sure how to use their new touchscreens. We spend a bit of time explaining where the buttons are and how to save a contact. It’s a friendly atmosphere most of the time. The walls are a bit bare, maybe just a calendar and some old posters for mobile plans. It’s a practical shop for a practical neighborhood, and we've been here long enough to feel like part of the bricks.
