Jacobs Engineering Group Inc operates out of a Kothi in Noida. It’s number C62 in Sector 53. If you’ve ever been to Noida, you know the sectors can look a bit similar after a while. This is a house that we turned into an office space. It has a different feel than those tall buildings in the special economic zones. We have a small gate and a little bit of garden space out front that we don't always keep tidy. Inside, the rooms serve as our departments. It’s quiet in this part of the sector, which is good for when we need to concentrate on engineering designs and long calculations. We don't have a cafeteria or anything, just a small kitchen where we make tea. The furniture is a mix of stuff we’ve picked up over the years. Some of the chairs squeak a bit. We spend most of our time looking at screens or talking about site plans. It’s a relaxed atmosphere, but we stay busy. Visitors sometimes get confused because it looks like a regular home from the outside. We usually have to go out to meet clients because there isn't much room for a big meeting table here. It's a practical way to run things without the high costs of a mall or a corporate tower. We like the neighborhood feel of Sector 53 and being part of the local community.
