Independent Consultant

You can find me at L 4 in Sector 11. It’s a small setup I’ve got here. I’ve been working as an independent consultant for a while now, mostly because I like the freedom of not being tied to a big company’s rules. My space is pretty basic. I’ve got a desk that’s seen better days and a couple of chairs for when someone actually stops by, which doesn't happen too often. Most of my work is done over the phone or through the computer anyway. I don’t put much stock in having a polished look. I’d rather just focus on the projects I have in front of me. Sector 11 is a decent place to be, and I like that I can just step out and find whatever I need nearby. The office is really just one room where I keep all my stuff. It gets a bit cluttered because I tend to keep every piece of paper I think I might need later. I don't have a receptionist or anyone like that. If the phone rings, I'm the one who picks it up. It’s a straightforward way to earn a living. I don’t try to make it sound like more than it is. I take on some work, I finish it, and then I move on to the next thing. It’s just me and my notes most of the time. It gets quiet, but I prefer it that way compared to the noise of a big office.
