Our spot is B-35 in Sector-57. It’s a quiet enough street, but we stay busy inside. We handle linens and fabrics, so the whole place is stacked high with bolts of cloth and boxes of finished goods. It’s soft underfoot in some areas because of the scraps, but mostly it’s just a lot of shelves and packing tables. We spend the day measuring out fabric, checking for flaws, and getting everything wrapped up for delivery. It smells like fresh cotton and sometimes a bit of dye. The office part is just a couple of desks shoved into the corner where we handle the orders and talk to suppliers. We don't have a big sign out front, just the address and the name. Most people who come here have been doing business with us for years, so they know the way. The sun hits the front windows pretty hard in the afternoon, so we have to keep the blinds down to stay cool. We aren't a big corporation; it’s just a handful of us making sure the quality is okay and the shipments go out on time. Sometimes we get a big order that requires everyone to jump in and help with the packing, even the guys who usually sit at the computers. It’s a lot of repetitive work, but it’s satisfying to see the piles of fabric turn into neatly wrapped bundles ready for the trucks. We just keep our heads down and get the cutting and sewing done as needed.
