Bharti Beauty Parlor

The parlor is right on Dadri Aamka Road. It is a small space, but we manage to fit everything we need in there. Usually, there is a scent of hair oil or rose water in the air. I started this place because I liked helping the women in the neighborhood feel a bit better about themselves. We do a lot of threading and basic facials for the ladies who live around Dadri. It isn’t a high-end salon with gold mirrors or expensive furniture. We just have the basic chairs and the stuff we need to do hair and makeup. Sometimes it gets really cramped when three or four people show up at the same time, but we just make it work. Most of the conversation is just about local news or what's happening at the market. It feels like a little community hub sometimes. We don't have a big sign or anything flashy, but people find us anyway by word of mouth. The road outside can get pretty dusty, so we spend a lot of time wiping down the shelves and the products. It’s a busy life, especially during the wedding season when everyone wants to look their best. We just do our best with what we have and keep the place running every day. It is hard work being on your feet all day, but seeing a happy face when they look in the mirror is why we keep the doors open.
