Ayna Hair Saloon

Our shop, Ayna Hair Saloon, is located right in the middle of Harola Main Market in Sector 5, Noida. If you know where the primary school is, we are just a short walk from there. The market is always crowded and noisy, which is something you just have to get used to when you work here. We have a few mirrors on the walls and the usual chairs for people to sit in while they wait their turn. Most of the time, the floor is covered in bits of hair that we have to sweep up every hour or so. It’s a small space, but we make it work for everyone who comes in. The smell of talcum powder and shaving cream is pretty much constant inside. We get all sorts of people visiting us, from young kids after school to older men who have lived in Noida for decades. Being near the school means we see a lot of families walking by in the afternoons. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to open the door wide to get some light and air inside. It’s not a polished place, but it’s where we spend our days and we know our way around every corner of it. We just focus on the task at hand and try to keep the scissors moving and the customers happy with their look without making things too complicated.
