Noida Deaf Society

We are located at House Number 588 in Sector 29, which is part of Arun Vihar. It’s right on the Mall Road, so it is actually quite easy to find if you know where the landmarks are. The house is a regular residential building that we have converted to fit what we do every day. Since we work with the deaf community, the atmosphere here is a bit different than your average office. It’s often very quiet, but at the same time, there is so much energy and movement because everyone is using sign language to communicate. We have classrooms set up in different rooms of the house where students come to learn skills or just to meet others who understand them. The garden in the front is small but we try to keep some plants alive, though the heat in the summer makes that a challenge sometimes. We’ve been in this sector for a long time, and the neighbors are used to seeing the buses drop off students in the morning. Inside, the walls are covered with posters and schedules. We don’t have a big reception desk or anything formal like that. Usually, you just walk in and someone will wave to you. We spend our days teaching, helping people find work, or just chatting over tea in the kitchen area. It’s a busy place and things can get a bit disorganized when we have a lot of people over, but we manage.
