I work out of a small space at the Chaudhary General Store, which is located at A 94A 1 in Sec 22, Noida. It is a busy little shop, and I have my desk set up in the back area. Most people in the neighborhood know the store, so it makes it easy for folks to find me when they need something. It’s not a quiet office environment at all, as there’s always the sound of customers and the shopkeepers talking. I actually prefer it this way because it feels less lonely than a regular office building. My desk is often covered in various papers and my old computer, but I have a system that works for me. Sometimes I help out with things in the store if it gets really crowded, but mostly I stick to my own work. We don’t have any fancy corporate policies or big mission statements here. We’re just local people running a business and trying to be helpful to those who stop by. The air conditioning is a bit moody, so it can get warm in the summer months, but we have a good fan. If you need to see me, just head into the general store and ask one of the guys at the counter. They know where I sit. It’s a simple, honest way to spend the day and it keeps me connected to the community.
