Babavva Transport

We run a small transport business from house number 1-25/3 in Somaram, Tadwai. It is mostly just about moving goods from one village to another. We have a couple of vehicles that have seen better days, but they get the job done. The roads around here can be quite rough, so we spend a lot of time checking the tires and the suspension. We carry all sorts of things, like bags of grain, building materials, or even furniture when someone is moving house. It is not a very organized operation with a dispatch center or anything. Most people just call us on the phone or stop by the house in Somaram to see if we can make a trip. The dashboard of the truck is covered in old receipts and a few lucky charms. We start early, often before the sun is even up, to beat the heat and the traffic on the main roads. Sometimes we have to wait for hours at a warehouse to get loaded, so we just sit in the shade and talk to other drivers. It is a slow way to make a living, but we know the routes around Tadwai like the back of our hands. We don't make big promises, we just try to get the goods there in one piece. When the truck is empty on the way back, we might pick up some supplies for the house or help a neighbor with a ride. It is a long day on the road but it keeps us going.
