Our office and workspace are located at E-44/3 in the Okhla Industrial Area Phase-II. This part of Delhi is always loud and filled with trucks and people moving crates around. We are more on the industrial side of things, so it’s not a shop where people just wander in from the street. There is a lot of space inside for the boxes and the materials we handle. We spend a lot of time on the phone or checking paperwork for the stuff we send out. It’s a bit of a gray building, like most of the others around here. The air feels a bit heavy with the smell of machinery and exhaust from the nearby factories. We have a small crew working here. Most of the day is spent loading and unloading or making sure the inventory counts are right. We don’t have fancy carpets or decorations. It’s just desks, some sturdy shelves, and a lot of packaging tape. Usually, lunch is eaten at the desks or we go to a small stall nearby for some quick food. It’s a long day, especially when the heat hits in the summer. We’ve been in Okhla for some time now and we’re used to the pace. It’s not pretty work, but it’s what we do. Every morning we unlock the gate and start moving through the list of things that need to get shipped or received. We keep the machines running and the floor clear of junk. Sometimes the forklift needs a bit of a kick to start.
