United Coffee House

Our place is right in the Inner Circle of Connaught Place, specifically at E 15. If you walk around New Delhi for any amount of time, you eventually end up here. The building is old and has that heavy feeling to it, which some people like and others find a bit much. We have been part of the landscape here for a very long time, through all the renovations of CP and the changes in the streets. Inside, things are a bit different from the modern places you see opening up every week. The ceilings are high and the lights are a bit dim in some corners. We spend a lot of time just keeping the place running, as old buildings always have something that needs fixing or polishing. Most of our regulars are people who have been coming here since they were young, and now they bring their own kids. It is not a place that changes its look very often. We keep the furniture where it has always been because that is what feels right. Sometimes the kitchen gets a bit backed up when the weekend crowd hits, but that is expected in this part of town. We just do our work and try to make sure everyone has a seat. It is a bit formal compared to a roadside stall, but it still feels like home to us who work here every day.
