Cafe Coffee Day

People know this spot in New Delhi pretty well by now. It’s just a place to sit down and have something to drink when you’re out and about. We keep the chairs reasonably clean and the machines running most of the time. It gets quite loud in the afternoons when students come in or people are meeting for work stuff. We aren't trying to be the fanciest place in Delhi, just a spot where you can get a coffee without too much fuss. The staff here has been around for a bit, so we know how the locals like their drinks. Sometimes the milk delivery is late or the air conditioning struggles with the Delhi heat, but we just keep going. It’s a busy corner of the city and there’s always something happening outside the windows. We spend a lot of time wiping down tables and making sure there are enough napkins. It’s not a complicated business. We make the coffee, people drink it, and they move on with their day. Some regulars stay for hours with their laptops, and we don't really mind as long as there’s space for others. It feels like a part of the daily routine for a lot of people in this neighborhood. We don’t have any grand ideas about changing the world, we just want to make sure the coffee tastes okay and the place stays open. We try to be friendly enough but we're mostly just busy making drinks and cleaning up after everyone.
