Triveni Tea Terrace

The terrace at Triveni Kala Sangam has been our home for quite a while now. We are tucked away in Bengali Market on Tansen Marg, and if you haven't been here before, it might take you a minute to find the stairs leading up. We mostly just focus on simple things like tea and those snacks people like to eat when they are taking a break from the art galleries downstairs. It’s not a place where you’ll find anything too fancy or modern. The chairs are just basic and sometimes the wind blows napkins across the floor. We get a lot of students and people who work in the nearby offices coming in around four in the afternoon. It gets a bit hectic then, and the staff is usually running around trying to keep up with all the tea orders. We don't really have a big philosophy or anything like that. We just show up, get the water boiling, and start frying the pakodas. Some days are better than others, especially when the weather is cool and the terrace is full of people chatting. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years, but we just stay here at number 205 doing the same thing. People seem to like the quiet vibe here, even if the service isn't lightning fast when we're packed. We just try to make sure the chai is hot and there's enough food for everyone who walks up.
