Tea Board Of India

We are over at Jam Nagar House, which is at 13/2 on Shahjahan Road. It’s a recognizable spot if you’re familiar with this part of the city. Being at the Tea Board Of India means we deal with a lot of administrative stuff related to the tea industry. The building itself has that older, sturdy feel to it. Inside, it’s mostly rows of desks and plenty of filing cabinets. We deal with a lot of paperwork and people coming in for different types of permissions or information. It’s not a fast-paced environment, but there is always something that needs to be filed or checked. The staff here has been around for a long time, so there’s a lot of history in the hallways. We usually have the tea going throughout the morning and afternoon. It’s a quiet place for the most part, though things pick up when there are meetings or visitors. Outside, Shahjahan Road is usually busy, but once you step inside, it calms down a bit. We spend our days going through records and answering questions from people in the trade. The furniture is a bit dated, and the walls have seen better days, but it serves the purpose. We don't have a modern open-plan office; it’s more traditional with separate sections for different tasks. It’s just how we operate. We keep track of what’s happening in the tea world from our little corner here. Most of us have been here for years, and we just do our part.
