Swift Fashions

Down in Vashist Park, at Wz-96-A, you’ll find our workshop. Swift Fashions is tucked away a bit, so you have to look for the sign if you aren't from around here. It’s a busy place with the sound of sewing machines going pretty much from morning until late evening. We have rolls of fabric leaning against the walls and threads of every color you can imagine hanging on the racks. The space is a bit cramped because we try to fit a lot of work into one area. We spend most of our time measuring, cutting, and checking the seams on whatever we are making that week. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait a bit, which is just how it goes in this part of town. The workers are usually chatting while they work, but they stay focused on the task. We don’t have a fancy showroom or anything like that. Most people who come here are looking for specific batches of clothes to be finished. It’s a lot of manual labor and standing on your feet for hours. We keep a small stove in the corner for making tea, which is necessary when we have big deadlines. The windows stay open to let some air in, though it brings in the dust from the street too. It’s just a regular local business trying to keep up with the pace of the city. We’ve been at this for a while now and know the local suppliers well enough to get by.
