Sushil Kumar & Company

Sushil Kumar & Company is tucked away in Shahdara at Braham Puri X-254/15, specifically in Gali No 5. It is a bit of a walk from the main road, and the lane is so narrow that two people can barely walk side by side. Our shop is just a simple room with some old wooden benches and a lot of files. The walls were painted green a long time ago and now they are more of a faded grey color. We spend most of our time sitting at the main desk, which is covered in piles of paper and some old registers. Gali No 5 is a quiet spot compared to the big markets, but you still hear the neighbors talking and the kids playing outside. We have a small window that looks out onto the alley, but there isn't much to see except the brick wall across from us. It gets a bit chilly in the winter because the sun doesn't reach down into the lane very well. We make our own tea on a small electric stove in the back. There isn't any fancy signage, just the company name painted on the door. We’ve been at this address for quite a while and we know all the other shopkeepers in the gali. It’s a slow pace of work here, just handling things as they come and keeping our own records in order.
