Sumitsu Apparel Pvt. Ltd. is run from House No. 88, which is in the Gh-12/88 section of Paschim Vihar. It’s more of a home-based office setup than a big factory. We started it this way to keep things manageable and the costs low. We deal with different types of clothing and garments. Most of our time is spent on the phone or working on the computer to coordinate with tailors and suppliers. It’s a quiet residential area, which is a nice change from the busy markets. We have a couple of rooms dedicated to the business where we keep samples and some of our records. It’s just a few of us working here most days. We don't have a storefront, so we don't really get walk-in customers. It’s mostly people who already know us or have been put in touch by someone else we've worked with. My wife helps with the designs and I handle the rest of the business side. Sometimes the living room gets taken over by fabric swatches when we are working on a new project. We like the flexibility of working from Paschim Vihar. It allows us to keep an eye on things without the high costs of a downtown office. We don't have any big corporate goals; we just want to keep making decent clothes and earning a living. It’s been working out okay for us so far. We just take it one season at a time.
