Starbeans

You can find us at G-53 on the ground floor in Connaught Place. Being in CP means it is always loud and there are people everywhere outside the door. Starbeans is just a small spot where people come to sit for a bit while they’re shopping or working nearby in the offices. We have some tables and the usual stuff you’d find in a place like this. The floor gets dirty fast with all the foot traffic from the street, so we are constantly mopping it up. It’s a lot of work keeping up with the lunch rush when everyone wants their drinks at the same time. We serve coffee and some snacks, mostly things that are easy to put together. We aren't trying to be the most famous cafe in Delhi. We just open up in the morning and stay until the evening crowd finally thins out. Sometimes the machine acts up or we run out of a certain type of bread, but we just deal with it as it happens. The lighting isn't perfect and the chairs have been used a lot over the years. It feels like a real place, though. People come in to escape the heat for thirty minutes and check their phones. We recognize the office workers who come in every single day at 11 am for their break. It’s a routine for them and for us too. We just keep the place running and try to make sure everyone gets what they ordered without waiting too long.
