We are tucked away in Sitapuri at B-100 Part 1, right behind the Dabri Police Station. It's a bit of a walk from the main road, but if you find the Nehru Academy School, you are pretty much there. Jayita Apparel is basically a working warehouse and office combined into one. The building is a bit older, so the stairs creak and the windows don't always close perfectly. We spend our days surrounded by piles of fabric and half-finished garments. It’s a busy environment and there is always a radio playing somewhere in the back to keep the mood up. You can hear the school bells and the kids playing during their recess, which lets us know what time of day it is without looking at a clock. We aren't a corporate office with shiny floors and glass walls. Our desks are covered in thread, measuring tapes, and coffee mugs. Sometimes the orders pile up and we have to work a bit later than usual to get everything sorted. The police station being so close means there is always some activity on the street, so it never feels too lonely. We grab our snacks from the little shop on the corner and just keep moving through the daily tasks. It’s a lot of repetitive work like checking labels and packing bags, but it’s what we do. We don't have a fancy showroom, just this workspace where the real work happens.
