Sethia Sons

Our place is at Plot No.Y 22 in Bada Bazar. It's right in the middle of Patel Nagar, not too far from Rajendra Place. Being in Bada Bazar means it’s always crowded and there’s always something happening right outside the door. Sethia Sons has been around for a bit, and we’ve seen the market change quite a bit. The shop is narrow but deep. We store most of the inventory in the back where it’s a bit cooler. In the front, we have the counter where we talk to everyone who walks in. It’s a family-run kind of thing. You’ll usually find one of us sitting there with a ledger or a cup of tea. We don't bother with a lot of decorations. The paint cans are the decoration. We get all sorts of people, from contractors who know exactly what they want to homeowners who are completely lost. We try to help them find the right match. The street outside is always full of rickshaws and delivery bikes. Sometimes it’s hard to hear over the shouting in the market, but you get used to it. We keep the doors open even when it’s dusty. It’s just how business goes in this part of Delhi. We stay busy until late, then we pull the shutters down and head home through the narrow lanes of Patel Nagar. It's a long day, but it's our life.
