Service Engineer

Our shop is located at C5/A-51 in Janak Puri. New Delhi is a huge place, but we’ve carved out a little niche for ourselves here. The workshop is a bit of a squeeze because we have so much equipment packed into the space. We don't have any of that corporate polish or a fancy storefront. It’s just a practical place where we come to work every morning. Most of our day is spent at the benches, surrounded by tools and spare parts. It can get pretty noisy with the sounds of the city and our own machines running. We don't have a dedicated person to answer the phones, so we just pick it up when we can hear it ringing over the noise. We aren't the type to use a lot of fancy words or make big promises as service engineers. We just take the work as it comes and try to do a decent job. Sometimes the power goes out, which is just part of living in Delhi, and we have to stop for a bit. We usually spend those times drinking tea and talking about whatever is going on in the neighborhood. We don't have a big marketing plan or anything. We’ve been here long enough that people just know to come to us when something breaks. It’s a straightforward life and we’re quite used to the routine by now.
