S D Wighe Architect

My office is inside Anandvan Society over in Paschim Vihar. I am in A/6 block, flat number 5 on the second floor. It’s a residential area, so it feels more like a home than a stiff office building. S D Wighe is the name I go by for my architecture work. I’ve been living and working in this part of town for years. The society is nice and has a lot of trees, which is a good view from my window while I’m drawing. I don’t have a huge staff, just a small setup where I can focus on my projects without too much noise. People usually come by to talk about their home renovations or new builds. I keep things very informal. We usually just sit around the table and look at sketches. I’ve got piles of books on design and construction everywhere, and it can get a bit dusty, but it’s a working office. Paschim Vihar is a good spot because it’s well connected. I spend a lot of time on the phone with laborers and suppliers. It’s not a glamorous job, but I enjoy the process of seeing something go from a sketch to a real building. If you’re coming by, just tell the guards at the gate you’re going to Anandvan Society. The stairs to the second floor aren't too bad, though I usually take them slow. I keep the door open in the evenings to let the breeze in.
