Our place is at Gautam Nagar 106. It’s an old building but it has character, which I guess is good since we are in the architecture business. Rana Architectural Solutions is the name on the door, though most people just call us by our first names. The office is usually a mess of blueprints and large scale drawings spread out over every available surface. We’ve got these tall windows that let in a lot of dust but also a good amount of afternoon sun. Working here means you’re always tripping over a ruler or a model of some building we’re thinking about. We aren't a huge firm with hundreds of employees. It’s just a small group of us who enjoy drawing and figuring out how things fit together. We spend a lot of time arguing over where a wall should go or what kind of materials to use. It’s a lot of back and forth. Sometimes we stay late when a deadline is coming up, eating takeout at our desks. The neighborhood has some good snack shops nearby which helps. We don't really bother with big corporate talk. We just want to get the designs right and make sure they actually work in the real world. It’s a lot of sitting at drafting tables and clicking away on mouse pads. That is basically our life here in Gautam Nagar. It is busy but we like it.
