Rama Tea Stall

You can find Rama Tea Stall at Shop No 33 in Kidwai Nagar. It’s not a big restaurant or anything, just a small stall where we make tea all day long. The stove stays lit from early morning until late in the evening. We have a big brass kettle that is almost always steaming. People from the offices nearby and the locals come here to take a break and stand around for a bit. We serve tea in small glasses and have some jars of biscuits on the counter. The shop is quite tiny, so everyone usually stands outside on the pavement while they drink. It gets very busy during the morning rush and again in the late afternoon. We don't have a menu or anything written down. Everyone just knows what we have. Sometimes we make a bit of snacks if we have the time. The walls are darkened by the soot from the stove and the floor needs a good sweep every few hours. It’s a simple business. We listen to the news on a small radio and chat with the regulars about the weather or the cricket scores. We don't try to be anything special. We just provide a hot cup of tea to whoever needs one. It’s a noisy, friendly little corner of Kidwai Nagar. Usually, the day ends when we run out of milk or the sun goes down and the street lights come on.
