Leather Mode International

Our place is over in Rajouri Garden, specifically J-10/88. If you know the area, you know how crowded it gets with all the shops and people around. We have a small office where we handle all the international side of the leather business. It’s a lot of sitting at desks and looking at samples under the lights to make sure the colors look right. The walls are a bit plain and we have files stacked up in the corner because there’s never enough shelf space. Outside, the traffic is constant, but inside we just focus on getting the orders ready. Sometimes we have to stay late when the shipments are moving out. The tea here is okay, but the snacks from the market are better. We’ve got a few people working the phones and checking the emails all day. It’s not a quiet job. We deal with different types of leather, mostly for garments and such, and the samples are draped over the chairs half the time. It feels like a lived-in space because we spend more time here than at home some weeks. The building is older but it serves our purpose well enough. We don’t bother with much decor because the leather takes up all the room anyway. It’s just how we work day to day here in Delhi. We keep the keys in the same bowl every night. It’s a predictable routine that keeps us grounded.
