Hyde & Co 1975

Hyde & Co 1975 has been over here at 8, Jor Bagh Market for a really long time now. My father started this back in the seventies and it hasn't changed all that much since then. We show up every morning, open the shutters, and get things ready for whoever walks in. Jor Bagh is a quiet enough place, and we’ve seen families grow up around here. Some of the people coming in now were kids when I first started helping out behind the counter. We don’t do anything too fancy or complicated. Most days it is just about keeping the shelves stocked and making sure everything is where it should be. Sometimes the light in the back of the shop flickers a bit and the old floorboards creak when you walk near the storage room, but that’s just how it is. We spend a lot of time just talking to the neighbors and regular visitors who have been coming to us for years. It’s not a big corporate operation or anything like that, just us doing what we know how to do. The sign outside is a little faded from the sun over the years, but most people know where we are anyway. It gets busy around lunchtime when the market picks up, then it slows down again in the late afternoon. We just try to keep things moving along and make sure people get what they need without any fuss.
