Pramanand Store

We are located in Rajokri, specifically at the Holi Chowk Gali. Our store has been a part of this community for quite a long time. It is a simple place where we sell groceries and daily essentials to the people living nearby. Pramanand is usually there from early morning, opening up the shutters and setting out the vegetable crates. The shop is tucked away in a narrow lane, so it feels a bit more quiet than the main roads. We have big sacks of flour and rice sitting on the floor, and the shelves are filled with everything from tea leaves to cleaning supplies. There is no air conditioning here, just a ceiling fan that has been wobbling for years. Neighbors often stop by just to sit for a bit and talk about what is happening in the village. We don't have any barcodes or fancy scanners; we just know the prices by heart or check our handwritten ledger. Sometimes the supply truck doesn't show up on time and we have to explain to the aunties why we don't have their favorite brand of oil. It is a very personal way of doing business. We know almost everyone who walks through the door by their first name. When the sun goes down, the chowk gets a bit more lively and we eventually close up for the night. It is just a basic, honest shop for the local folks here in Rajokri.
