Our office is up on the seventh floor of Ansal Bhawan at 702. Being right on Kasturba Gandhi Marg near the Barakhamba Road intersection means there is always something going on outside. Ansal Bhawan is a big office building that has been around for a while and shows its age in some spots. Drinks trade is what we work in, so talking to suppliers and distributors takes up most of the day. Functional desks and samples of bottles are scattered around the room. Flashy decorations aren't something we have. Old filing cabinets that have seen better days and worn-out carpet in the high-traffic areas are the reality of the space. Barakhamba Road is always a rush of people in suits, but inside our room, things stay pretty relaxed. Corporate culture with a thousand rules doesn't exist here. Focus is just on getting our shipments out and making sure the numbers add up at the end of the month. Trekking downstairs for lunch can be a bit of a chore, but being in the heart of the city where everything is happening is great. Staying here for years has allowed us to get to know the building staff well. Handling the business of drinks and staying on top of the paperwork is what we do.
