New Fashion Point Bombay Dyeing Shop

This shop is located at Number 55/5 in Umrao House, right in the Jwala Heri Market of Paschim Vihar. Jwala Heri is one of those markets where you can find almost anything, so it’s always crowded, especially on the weekends. New Fashion Point Bombay Dyeing Shop is tucked in among many others. We mostly handle things like bedsheets, towels, and various linens. You’ll see stacks of colorful fabrics piled up all the way to the ceiling. We spend a lot of our time unfolding things for people to see the patterns and then trying to fold them back exactly how they were. It’s never quite as neat the second time. The shop floor is a bit narrow, so when three or four people are inside, it feels quite full. We have a small stool behind the counter where we sit when things quiet down. The lights are those long tube lights that flicker a little bit before they stay on. Outside, there’s always the sound of people bargaining and the smell of street food from the vendors nearby. It’s a busy atmosphere and we’ve been part of it for a long time. We know most of the other shopkeepers around here. We don't do much in terms of fancy displays. We just put the new stock out where people can see it. It’s a basic, honest shop where we just handle the daily sales and keep things going.
