Hans Fashion & Co.

Hans Fashion & Co. is over at S-77 in Okhla Phase 2. This area is packed with different warehouses and small factories, so there is always a lot of movement. We focus on fashion items and we spend our time looking at sketches and trying to turn them into real pieces. The space is a bit cramped because we have so many samples hanging up on the walls. We have a few big cutting tables where we spend most of the morning. It’s not a glamorous fashion house with models and runways. It’s more about the smell of steam irons and the sound of scissors cutting through thick cloth. We get our supplies from the local markets and sometimes things are late, which can be frustrating. We don't have a big fancy office, just a small desk in the corner for the accounts. The windows are a bit small, so we rely on overhead lights even during the day. We are just a small team trying to stay on top of the latest trends without making a big fuss about it. The tea guy comes around twice a day and that’s usually when we take a break. It is a lot of repetitive work but there is something nice about seeing a finished piece of clothing at the end of the day. We are just here in Okhla, doing our thing and hoping the power stays on.
