Our place, Garvick Knits & Apparels Pvt. Ltd., is located at X- 20 in Okhla Industrial Area Phase- 2. We’re right near the Vodafone office, which is a good landmark for people trying to find us in this maze of buildings. Okhla is a busy spot, always full of trucks, bikes, and people moving things around. Inside our building, it’s mostly about the knitting machines. They make a rhythmic clicking sound that you get used to after an hour or so of being here. We work with a lot of yarn and different types of knit fabrics. There are spools of thread everywhere you look, even on top of the cupboards. The lighting isn't great, but it's enough to see what we're doing on the machines. We spend a lot of time checking for dropped stitches or making sure the colors match up with the sample. It’s dusty work, so we’re always sweeping up bits of lint and thread from the floor. We have a small area for the office stuff, but most of the space is for the production lines. It gets quite warm in the summer, so we have the big industrial fans going all the time. We aren’t a huge corporation, just a team of regular people who know how to run these machines. We don't have a receptionist. If someone comes to the door, one of us just stops what we're doing to see what they need. It’s a straightforward way to run things.
