Norso Leathers

If you walk down Lane 11 in Tuglakabad and look for Rz33, you’ll find us easily enough. There is usually a smell of raw leather around the entrance which tells you you’re in the right spot. We’ve been at Norso Leathers for a good number of years now. It’s a bit of a tight space because we have so many hides stacked up in the corners. We do a lot of cutting and stitching here. My hands are always a bit stained from the dyes we use, but that’s just part of the job I suppose. We don't have a big sign out front, just the address and the name on the door. Most of our business comes from people who have known us for a long time. They know we just do our work and don't make a big fuss about things. The light in the back of the shop isn't the best so we mostly work near the front where the sun comes in. We have these old heavy shears that have been sharpened so many times they look thin, but they still cut better than the new ones. Sometimes the neighbors complain about the noise of the hammering, but we try to keep it down in the mornings. It’s a steady life, just moving from one piece of leather to the next and making sure the edges are clean before we pack them.
