Our office is situated at 305 A/78 in Guru Amar Das Bhawan, which is right in the heart of Nehru Place. Everyone in Delhi knows Nehru Place for being a massive hub of activity, mostly for electronics and computers. It’s a chaotic place to work, but there is an energy to it that you don't find anywhere else. Our floor in the Bhawan is usually full of people coming and going. We work on housing projects and manage various aspects of home development from this small space. The office has big windows, but they are usually covered in dust from the city air outside. We have a few desks pushed together and a lot of filing cabinets that are starting to overflow with project documents. It’s not the most modern looking office, but it works for us and we know where everything is. Lunchtime is always an adventure because the food stalls downstairs are so crowded, but the food is good and cheap. We spend most of our time on the phone or meeting with people who stop by the office to discuss their plans. It’s a very hands-on job and we don't have much time for formalities or corporate meetings. We just focus on the builds and making sure the paperwork is filed correctly with the local authorities. It’s a busy life here in Nehru Place, but we wouldn't have it any other way for our small group.
