Nescafe Point

Being over here at Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar Plot No BG/495 means we see a lot of trucks. Nescafe Point is where a lot of drivers stop when they are tired from being on the road for days. The machine makes a lot of noise, that constant hissing sound of steam. It gets really dusty around here because of all the heavy vehicles moving in and out of the plot. I spend a lot of time wiping down the small table and the counter, but the dust always comes back. In the mornings, it’s very cold, so the hot drinks are popular. I usually have a few crates stacked up in the corner that I haven't put away yet. The floor is concrete and has some cracks in it, but it does the job. I’ve worked here a long time and I know how the drivers like their drinks, some want extra sugar and some want it very strong. We don’t have much room for people to sit, so they mostly just stand around and talk about their routes. It’s a loud place with all the engines idling nearby. Sometimes the milk delivery is late and I have to tell people to wait a bit. It’s not a perfect setup, but it’s what we have here at BG/495. I just try to keep the mugs clean and the water boiling for the next person.
