Buunai

Buunai is located at 33 Kaushalya Building, right on Ansari Road. It’s a busy part of the city, 4380/4B is the exact spot if you're looking on a map. We work with fabrics and clothes mostly. The building is one of those older ones that has a lot of character, though the hallway lighting is a bit dim sometimes. Inside our space, it’s a different story with all the rolls of cloth and samples lying around on every surface. We spend most of our time looking at textures and colors. It gets messy when we're in the middle of a project, thread everywhere and bits of paper on the floor. It’s a small team here. We don't have a big corporate setup with receptionists or anything. It’s more about sitting around a table and figuring out how a garment should look. Ansari Road is always loud with horns and people, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. We started this because we liked making things. It’s not always easy, especially when a shipment of fabric is late or the color isn’t quite what we expected. We just do our best to get things finished. Sometimes we have customers come in to see the samples, and we have to clear off a chair for them. It’s a very hands-on kind of job. We don’t spend much time on fancy websites; we’re usually too busy.
