Navy Fashion

Our place is tucked away in Shanti Kunj, which is part of Vasant Kunj here in Delhi. It’s a bit quieter than the main markets, which is nice because we can actually hear ourselves think while we work. Navy Fashion has been at D 7 for some time now. We aren't trying to be the biggest company in the city. We just want to make sure the clothes we put out are decent and that people actually want to wear them. Most of the time, the rooms are filled with rolls of fabric and half-finished samples hanging on the walls. It can look a bit chaotic to someone walking in from the street, but we know where everything is. The sun hits the front window in the afternoon and it gets pretty warm inside. We usually have the radio playing some old songs while we pack up orders. Sometimes we make mistakes, maybe a button is loose or a hem isn't perfect, so we have to go back and fix it before it leaves the door. It’s just how it goes when you’re doing everything by hand mostly. We don’t have fancy brochures or a PR person. If someone likes what we do, they usually tell their friends and that’s how we get by. It’s a steady pace and we don’t rush things too much if we can help it.
