Mohit Kumar Architect

Mohit Kumar Architect is based out of a spot in Hauz Khas Enclave, specifically at R-1/301. It is actually quite a nice part of town, though getting through the enclave gates in the evening can be a bit of a struggle. The office itself is pretty tucked away, which is nice because it stays relatively quiet when we are trying to focus on a difficult design. Mohit is usually the one dealing with the tricky municipal stuff while the rest of us are busy with the drafting and the constant revisions that clients ask for. We have a couple of large tables that are always covered in site photos and samples of tiles or wood. It is not a very formal environment here; we mostly just talk through ideas while drinking way too much coffee. Sometimes the neighbors come by to say hello or ask a quick question about their own renovations. It feels more like a small community than a stiff business office. We have been working out of this space for some time, and it has grown on us despite the occasional leak in the ceiling when it rains too hard. Working in Hauz Khas gives us a good mix of inspiration from the old structures nearby and the newer stuff going up. We just keep our heads down and get the drawings finished on time, even when the power flickers.
