Our office is over in the Okhla Industrial Area, Phase 3. We are at E-44/3, up on the first floor. If you know Okhla, you know it is always loud with trucks and machines running in every building. It’s not the kind of place people visit for fun, but it’s where things get made in Delhi. We deal with fashion, but our daily life is less about runways and more about dusty boxes and checking fabric samples. The first floor is okay, though the stairs can be a bit of a struggle when we are carrying heavy rolls of cloth. We share the area with all sorts of different workshops and businesses. It gets very busy during the day, and the traffic around here can be a real nightmare in the evenings. Our workspace is pretty simple. We have some sturdy tables for inspecting clothes and a few desks for the paperwork. We don’t bother with fancy decorations or corporate talk. We just focus on the work at hand. Most of us have been in the fashion business for a long time, so we know how to handle the daily stresses of the industry. It’s a tough, gritty environment, but there is a lot of productivity happening. We just try to do our part and keep the business running smoothly from this little corner of South Delhi.
