This area in Bakkarwala, West Delhi, is where we handle all our apparel work. Working from a ground floor flat is actually quite convenient for us because we can move our stock and materials in and out without much trouble. We aren't a big factory or a high-rise office. It's a small, focused operation where we do the cutting, sewing, and checking of our clothing items. Bakkarwala is a bit further out, so it’s not as crowded as central Delhi, which gives us a bit of space to think. We don't have any marketing experts or corporate slogans. We just focus on the clothes and making sure they are put together right. Sometimes the boxes take up most of the room, and we have to squeeze past them to get to the sewing machines. It's a very hands-on type of business. We spend our days looking at patterns and checking the stitching on the shirts and pants we deal with. We don't try to make it sound like more than it is. It's just a regular apparel business run by people who care about the work they do. We keep things simple and just try to get through our list of orders every week in Lok Nayak Puram.
