Malikiya Engineering Works is tucked away at 431 Babarpur Khan Market on Patel Marg. If you’re looking for us, just listen for the sound of metal being worked on. Our workshop is always full of scraps, tools, and half-finished projects. It’s not the neatest place in the world, but we know where everything is. We spend our days at the benches, fixing things or fabricating parts that people need. The market area is always buzzing with people, so there’s never a quiet moment outside our door. Most of us here have grease under our fingernails and we don’t mind it. It’s honest work. We have a small table in the corner where we eat our lunch and talk about whatever is going on in the news. The fans overhead do their best to keep us cool, but in the middle of summer, it’s still pretty warm inside. We’ve been at this location for years, and the walls are covered with old calendars and notes we’ve scribbled over time. People stop by with all sorts of odd requests, and we do our best to help them out with whatever machinery or parts they’re struggling with. We don’t have a receptionist, so if you walk in, one of us will just look up from our work and see what you need. It’s just us here doing the best we can every day.
