Madras Coffee House

Our shop is the Madras Coffee House in Hauz Khas, specifically at Shop No 10 in Kalu Sarai. This area is famous for all the coaching centers and students, so that’s who we see most of the time during the day. The shop is small, and the smell of coffee is always there. It’s a very specific smell, like roasted beans and hot milk that fills up the whole street. We have a few small tables but most people just stand or take their coffee to go because they are in a hurry. It’s very busy in the mornings when the classes are about to start. Everyone wants their caffeine fix before they sit through a long lecture. We also get a rush in the evenings when students are done with their exams and want to relax. Kalu Sarai is a crowded place, and our shop is right in the middle of it all. We use traditional filters for the coffee, and you can hear the sound of the milk being frothed all day long. It’s not a quiet place by any means. There is always the sound of people talking about their studies or where they are going next. The walls are a bit plain, and we have some old pictures up from years ago. We've been here for a while, and the students seem to like the consistency of what we do. It’s just a simple coffee house. We don't have a big menu, just the things we know well. It’s a small, busy corner in Hauz Khas.
