KARTHIKEYANN TRADERS

Our shop is tucked away on the second floor of Shivaji Market, right at number 220. Being in Tagore Garden, it can get pretty crowded, especially on the weekends when everyone is out shopping. We’ve been in this market for a while, and we know most of the other shopkeepers around us. It’s a small space, so we have to stack things high up on the shelves to make everything fit. It’s not a fancy showroom with bright lights. It’s just a place where we do our trading and keep our records. We don’t use any complicated systems. Usually, it's just a pen and a notebook to keep track of what’s coming in and going out of the shop. We deal with customers face to face mostly. It’s better that way because you can actually talk to people and understand what they need. Sometimes the stairs up to the second floor are a bit of a climb, but we don’t mind the exercise. We aren't trying to be the biggest traders in the city. We just want to keep the shop running and make sure our regulars are taken care of. Most days are spent answering questions or checking our stock levels. It’s a busy little corner of the market. We don’t have much in the way of staff, just a couple of us doing everything from cleaning the floor to making sales. It’s a simple life and it keeps us busy enough.
