Our shop, Ruian Wantong Electromechanical MFg. Ltd., is located at Plot No.404 in Chand Nagar. That’s right in the Tilak Nagar area, which is always crowded with people and small shops. Finding the plot can be a bit of a trick if you don't know the shortcuts through the side streets. It’s a tight space, but we make it work for everything we do. We deal with electromechanical parts, so there are always wires and small components sitting out on the workbenches. The light in the workshop isn't the best, so we have a few extra lamps set up so we don't miss anything small. Tilak Nagar has a lot of energy, and there is always some kind of noise coming from the street outside, whether it is scooters honking or people shouting. We’ve been at this spot for some time now. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we are usually too busy with the work to worry about how the place looks to outsiders. Most of us live nearby, so the commute isn't too bad, which is a blessing in this part of town. Lunch is usually something brought from home, eaten quickly before getting back to the assembly. It’s a gritty, honest kind of job and we don't try to make it seem like anything else. We just focus on the machines and the parts every day.
