Kapur Timber Corner

The shop is right there in Arjun Nagar, just across from Defence Colony. It’s a busy area, especially with all the cars and people moving through Kotla Mubarakpur. You can usually smell the wood before you even see the sign for Kapur Timber Corner. We have piles of timber everywhere, and sometimes it’s hard to walk through the aisles without stepping over a plank or two. We spend our days cutting wood to the sizes people need. It’s noisy because of the saws, and there is sawdust on basically every surface, including our clothes. We don’t really mind it though. It’s been our routine for years. People come in with sketches on scraps of paper, asking if we can find a piece of teak or pine that fits their project. We do our best to dig through the stacks. The location at A-134 is convenient for the locals, and we see the same faces pretty often. It’s not a corporate showroom with bright lights. It’s a working timber yard where things are a bit rough around the edges. We keep the ledger by the front desk and handle things one customer at a time. It gets crowded in the evenings when everyone is heading home, but we stay open until the last order is sorted out. It’s just honest work that we've been doing since we started. Most days are long but we like being part of the neighborhood.
