Operating out of New Delhi, our shop is a place where we mostly deal with metal and mechanical parts. It’s busy here, as you can imagine being in Delhi, and there is always something needing to be fixed or measured. We’ve been at this for a while now, just handling the regular engineering jobs that come our way from other local businesses or people who need something specific made. The floor is usually a bit greasy and there are blueprints lying around on the desks. We don't spend much time on the computer unless we really have to. Most of the work is done at the benches with tools. It's a lot of manual labor and checking things twice to make sure they fit right. Sometimes we stay late when a job is due, just drinking tea and finishing up the last bits of welding or cutting. It's not a big corporate office with glass walls; it’s just a workspace where we get our hands dirty. Delhi has a lot of places like ours, but we just stick to what we know and keep the machines running. It’s noisy and there’s always the smell of oil in the air, but that’s just how an engineering shop should be. We just keep our heads down and do the work that’s in front of us every day. We aren't trying to change the world, just keeping the equipment moving.
