Comfy Leathers (krotos)

We are over here at L-55 in Abul Fazal Enclave, right in the middle of Jamia Nagar. It’s a busy spot in Okhla. We mostly deal with leather stuff under the name Comfy Leathers, though some people around here just call it krotos. The workshop is small but we keep it moving every day. You can hear the machines running from the street sometimes when the door is open. We spend a lot of time checking hides and making sure things are cut right. It’s dusty work and our hands get pretty dirty by the afternoon. We started out with just a couple of tables and some basic tools. Now the space is packed with rolls of material and half-finished jackets or bags. Most of us have been working here for a while, so we know each other's habits well. We don't have a fancy showroom or anything like that. It’s just a place where we get the work done. People from the neighborhood drop by sometimes to ask about repairs or just to see what we are making this week. It gets hot in the summer, but we have a few fans that help a bit. We just focus on the leather and try to keep things simple. There’s always a pile of scrap pieces in the corner that we need to sort through. That’s pretty much the daily life for us here in Okhla.
