Jain Overseas

Our office is at C-19 in Okhala Industrialarea Phase-1. It is a very busy part of town with trucks constantly moving in and out of the narrow lanes. Jain Overseas has been operating from this spot for quite a long time now. Every morning starts with opening the heavy metal shutters and letting some air into the place. The air outside is usually thick with dust and smoke from the nearby factories. We spend most of our hours sitting at desks piled high with shipping documents and ledgers. It is not a fancy setup at all. We have some old wooden chairs and a few filing cabinets that don't always close right. My team and I mostly focus on getting the daily tasks done without much chatter. We deal with various overseas shipments, so there is a lot of checking and re-checking of lists. Sometimes the phone rings all day and other times it is quiet enough to hear the pigeons on the roof. We usually get our tea from a small stall just around the corner. The guy there knows exactly how much sugar we like. Lunch is a quick affair, often eaten while looking at more spreadsheets. The walls are a bit stained from years of use, but we don't mind much. We are just here to do the work and then head home through the evening traffic. It is a long commute most days because the roads here are always blocked with containers and delivery vans. It is just part of the routine here.
