Jai Mata Engineering Works

If you walk through Gate No-4 in Naraina, you’ll find us at C-126. It’s right in the middle of Phase-1, so it’s pretty loud most days. Jai Mata Engineering Works is just a regular place where we get things done. We don't have a big fancy lobby with a receptionist. Usually, someone just yells from the back if they hear you come in. The industrial area is always dusty, and there’s always a truck blocking the narrow road. We spend a lot of time moving things around to make space. The walls could use a new coat of paint, but we never seem to get around to it because there is always something else to do. It gets really hot in the summer, so we keep the fans going all day. Sometimes we grab tea from the guy at the corner. He’s been there as long as we have. It’s not the kind of place you see in a magazine. It’s just where we work. We have some old metal desks and chairs that have seen better days. But they work fine for what we need. You can hear the machines from the neighboring units humming through the walls. It’s just the way Naraina is. People are always busy here. We just try to stay on top of our own piles of work. The lights flicker sometimes when the heavy machines start up next door, but we've gotten used to it after all these years.
