Jai Ambey Motors Driving School

Started this little place in Uttam Nagar on Dal Mill Road a while back. It’s a busy spot, G-1-587, right where all the traffic happens. We spend most of our time out on the roads with people who are nervous about touching the steering wheel for the first time. It’s funny how people get so stiff when they sit in the driver's seat. I usually tell them to just relax their shoulders. The office isn't anything fancy, just a desk and some chairs where we handle the paperwork and talk about the rules. Sometimes the dust from the road gets in, so we’re always cleaning the windows. Dal Mill Road is always moving, so our students get used to the chaos pretty quickly. We have a few cars that we keep running every day. Maintenance takes up a lot of my time, checking the clutches and brakes because beginners are hard on them. It’s not an easy job staying patient when someone stalls the engine in the middle of a turn, but that’s just how it goes here. We see all kinds of people, from young kids getting their first license to older folks who finally decided they need to drive. It’s just us here, making sure people know which pedal is which and how to not hit the rickshaws. The days are long, especially in the heat, but we just keep at it.
